Texas Love

The weather has been amazing in Texas so we have taken advantage of this phenomenon as much as we can before we hit triple digits. Here are a few fun trips I caught on my phone recently.
We went fishing at the Quarries, just a half mile from our house. This was a perfect end to the day; the sun was setting, the kids were in great moods, and our good friends met up with us after we were done. The only thing missing from that night would maybe be a good Mojito.

We have some very fun friends! Kyle had set up a zip line in his backyard from all of his old climbing gear. Everyone got to take a spin!

Owen posed for Emmy while the man-boys made some changes to the pulley system.
Alison and I just sat back and enjoyed watching the husbands entertain the chillins for a while!
Camp Mabry had a special rescue demonstration one weekend. They did a mock helicopter rescue of a soldier who had been kidnapped by enemies. We were in awe of how cool this live action combat was. The kids were totally speechless. Emmy insisted later that she get this picture with the "Lady Soldier."
Boone had fun climbing all over the military vehicles.
Hat Creek Burgers has become a favorite spot for some good burgers and playground fun. The owners were even sweet enough to leave some of the pink flamingos out front since they took over the lot where the old nursery had been for years and years. This spot on 360 and Bee Cave Rd was infamous for the numerous flamingos hanging out on the front lawn.
Emmy and Boone walked around trying to name all of them and gave hugs to the ones they deemed worthy or needy of one.
I love living in Austin. It is by far one of my favorite places on Earth. It is a blessing and privilege to get to raise our family here.
