March was BUSY

The 2nd Annual Enchanted Rock Camping Trip!We had no idea it was going to be so hot that weekend! The kids were getting a little ancy so we all headed down to the creek for some old fashioned naked-frog-catching. We looked like quite the crew!
Climbing Enchanted Rock.
Kara came sans husband, and con 2 monkeys!
The hike up Enchanted Rock can be pretty intense on little ones. Not only did we hike to the top, but the dads took the older kiddos on a caving expedition. So fun! Flashlights required and everything! Emmy fell asleep on Kara's lap during an impromptu backrub and didn't even stir when we transferred her to the blanket.

Marching On...

We took a little mini trip to San Antonio and hung out with Aunt Lesley while she was there for a work conference. We took a boat tour, ate some Mexican food and gelato, and of course had to go see the iconic Alamo.

Later that week we went to the Waco Children's Museum with Nana. We did this last year and had so much fun. This year did not disappoint.
Dressing up as Native Americans.

Dressing up as the pioneers who drove out the Native Americans.
I'm only kidding (kind of).

Emmy spent at least 20 minutes "washing" all of the dress up clothes on the washboard. She felt very important and took much pride in her work. When she saw the iron she had no clue what it was. Nana showed her how to use one, and  I informed Emmy that is what dryers are for. Insert Nana eye roll!

We had a playdate with one of the college gals in my Bible study. Meredith loves to try to get the kiddos to put up their horns. I had to keep reminding the kids not to say, "Ewww! Look! Hook Em Horns!" every time they saw someone wearing a burnt orange shirt downtown.

I took the kiddos to the Young Life College Placement Night. Each year several hundred freshman go through YL training to become volunteer leaders for a number of highschools and middle schools in the Austin area. The culmination of all this preparation is the night they find out which team they have been placed on. It is an electric night! I was amazed by what a production it was. Several of my girls were in the hilarious and very creative skits each team put on. Emmy and Boone had a ball dancing in the aisle and cheering on the new leaders. I hope we will be able to go every year as it was encouraging to my heart to see all the communities coming together and supporting such an important ministry..

This is just a quick pic we got on one of our date nights this month. We switch off babysitting with Luke and Melissa and get to take some time out at least twice a month to reconnect and be alone. Such a gift!
