End of Summer Laity Lodge Trip

Our Closing Ceremonies for the end of summer took place on the beautiful property of Laity Lodge. We visited our friends the Tulls who live on site all summer, serving on staff for the new family camp. Collectively we Fosheas have decided Laity Lodge is one of our favorite places on the planet. Nestled on the banks of the Frio river we rock climbed, hiked, fished, and of course swam in the river to our heart's content. We had so much fun spending time with the Tulls and getting away from the noise and speed of the city. Leah and I even got to steal away one night for a great concert at one of the other camps. We are so blessed to have such great friends and to get to spend some time at such a beautiful place.

Emmy was a champion rock climber. She scaled up the wall with hardly any fear!

While Emmy climbed Luke and Boone were bouldering and falling on a giant mat like crazy monkeys.

Trey and Claire

Boone got in on the action but was a bit more timid than E. This climbing wall was such a cool piece of equipment. You didn't need someone to belay you at all. You simply hooked yourself onto this retractable rope that somehow works based on hydrolics (I think...) If you place any weight on the rope, it tightens and will not allow you to free fall. We were able to sit back and encourage the kiddos without worrying about being the safety patrol.

Joel and I didn't want to miss out on the fun either. J of course had to get to the very top, while I was just fine climbing to the edge of the shaded part and then rapelling a short distance back to the ground. I thought it was far too hot to mess with climbing to the top. Ain't nobody got time for that.

All the kiddos

All the adults. Thanks for such a fun weekend Tulls! We love y'all!
