One of the biggest movies of this decade opened right before Emmy's birthday. We have the soundtrack memorized and movie lines down pat. Frozen has woven itself into our everyday life so it was no surprise when Emmy decided this would be the theme for her 6th Birthday party.
I went to work on transforming our downstairs into a winter wonderland.
This was our first birthday party sans parents (accepting me and Joel of course). Emmy invited a few of her close pals and insisted everyone come dressed up as a character from the movie (ie Anna or Elsa). Upon arriving each girl got her own sparkly Anna cape and pink crown. They were so cute!
Boone dressed up also but missed the memo on the Frozen theme.
We had a blast making beaded jewelry, ice crystal paintings, and decorating crowns.
Then everyone got to make their very own "Olaf" snack: marshmallows, pretzel sticks, Nutella and food coloring. It was so fun to see the girls work intently on their creations. Some chose to devour their snack while others could not stand to part with their snowmen.
Pin the carrot nose on Olaf was next on the agenda, along with a good ole piñata beat down.
Isn't he too cute?!
Then we sang Happy Birthday and filled up on even more sugar, including a Frozen Glacier drink.
My favorite of all was watching the girls sing along to all the songs from the movie. They had the moves and lyrics completely memorized and were so precious!
Bailey gave Emmy a pony and dictated this note. They are such sweet friends.
