I have seen this idea in so many other places, done in so many different ways and I love it! From turkeys to wreaths to leaf garlands, this is a fun way to remind ourselves and our children of all that we have to be thankful for. The Foshea family is making a Thankful Tree. It sits on our table (not on the floor as pictured) and looks rather cute!

Every night at dinner we write down one or two things per leaf. Yesterday Emmy wanted to write "money" as something she is thankful for. Hmmm. We talked about it a little bit and finally decided it was ok as she explained to me how important it is for us to have shelter, food, and of course our car. That last one seems to pretty important to her. I think because she gets to "drive" it when we are playing in the driveway.
Hopefully as we approach Thanksgiving we will continue to offer up a sacrifice of thanks and praise regardless of our circumstances.
